The Babylonian Map of the World is considered the oldest known surviving world map, dating back to the 6th century BCE. Discovered in present-day Iraq, the original clay tablet is now preserved in the British Museum.
The design features the original map on the front and its translated version on the back. At its center lies Babylon, surrounded by the known lands and kingdoms of the ancient world, including the Kingdom of Urartu (present-day Armenia).
A unique piece of ancient cartography connecting Armenian history with one of the earliest known maps of the world.
