Tamzara - Armenian Folk Dance
Tamzara belongs to the “two steps forward, two steps back” dance family, yet stands out for its extended structure and dynamic movements.
The choreography includes side-to-side steps, double foot strikes, and continuous shifts of body weight from left to right and back again.
According to Komitas, Tamzara is a wedding song and dance in which the main roles are performed by the parbash (lead dancer) and parapoch (tail dancer), while the bride traditionally stands beside her godfather.
Today, the dance has lost its original ritual significance, but it continues to remain a unique and dynamic example of Armenian dance heritage.
Crafted from premium heavyweight fabric with a comfortable structured fit, this piece is designed to present Armenian tradition in a modern way while offering durability and a refined feel.
