Echoes of the Mountains
The Armenian mountains, with their immense and majestic forms, have acquired a mythical power in the imagination of our ancestors. The people often portrayed them as living, speaking, breathing beings. A vivid example can be seen in the mountains depicted in the back print of the T-shirt — Mount Aragats, Sarcali, Sandukhtasar, and Mount Ara — each carrying its own echo. The front of the T-shirt features a mountaineer following the echo of Mount Aragats. The great Armenian writer Gevorg Emin gave a brief yet powerful description of the echoes of the mountains:
