In 1965, the Yerevan Automobile Factory "ErAZ" was founded, laying the foundation for Armenian automotive manufacturing. From 1966, the first batch of ErAZ 762 vans was produced, which not only gained widespread distribution in the USSR but also reached as far as the USA, specifically to the state of Chicago.
